From Spindler and knitter Julie Sandell:
I have had a wonderful time working with some
BFL roving I bought from you, in the Deep Sea and South Pacific colorways. I wanted to make a chunky sweater out of this bouncy, beautiful fiber.
Since I am a beginning spinner, using a drop spindle, I *couldn't* spin fine yarn when I started, although by the end I had to work to keep it thick. I also love the shifts in colors, and I thought that would be better preserved with a chunky yarn. I did some control of the pooling by using a circular needle for most of the body, although for the sleeves I just let the colors fall where they wanted.
I've never knit something before where I was eager for every stitch because it was a slightly different color than the last. In any event, I finished and wanted to send you a couple of pictures. The sweater is soft enough to wear against the skin, and warm enough to wear outside in our New England fall. |
