Tino's Byzantine Stars Cardigan: You see, Tino is an alpaca. He and his friends live with the Murray's at Lassen View Alpacas, here in Northern California and this summer I was lucky enough to buy his youngster fleece, which, now in yarn and knitted fabric form is deliciously soft. You can see that there are places on his body where the lighter colors accent the dark and how this finds its way into the garment.

This lovely and drapey cardigan was hand knit with a variety of handspun yarns but the lovely warm brown of Tinos's fleece was the catalyst for the project. The buttons came next. They are special hand made glass treasures, from the folks at Moving Mud, that seemed to be called out of my personal collection, for this piece.
