Angora Superfine Merino Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
Betsy was an angora rabbit who once lived with Connie Wellner. She left the earth but Connie clung to all of her earthly gifts until she sold them to me (along with several other rabbits lovely wool). Each coat produced by a naturally colored angora rabbit can vary in color from the last and we have two versions of this deliciously fun and furry yarn that I call Betsy’s Candied Apple.

One ply is a richly colored merino, dyed in the Forbidden City colorway that was blended with a twinkly gold Firestar and the other ply is this gorgeous hand plucked angora that will fur out to beat the band.

Fiber: 60% natural black angora/38% superfine merino/2% Firestar nylon
Gauge:Tricky. I would knit it at probably 4 stitches per inch, to allow for bloom
Needle size: I would suggest an 8 or 9 with this but you must play for yourself

3.6 ounces/228 yards $72
2.8 ounces/176 yards $56
2.4 ounces/162 yards $48
2.2 ounces 162 yards $44

Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn from Lisa Souza Cashmere/Superfine Merino Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
Our road trip to Stitches Midwest last August gave me one impression of Iowa that remained in this colorway; corn fields in tassel. You can see it, I know that you can. There is enough in this offering (1270 yards total) for a beautiful project. Don’t knit this too tightly, giving it room to bloom. The is amount of twist will make it very bouncy, indeed. I call this yarn Iowa August.

Fiber: 50/50 Cashmere/Superfine Merino
Gauge: 4 to 4.5 stitches per inch
Needle size 7-8 US/4.5-5mm suggested
Hand wash

Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn from Lisa Souza  Wonderland Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn

It all began with a post on Facebook and I soon became the owner of an amazing Teeswater fleece, which I teased with some vibrant Border Leicester Lamb locks and a little bit of Firestar for fun. I call this yarn Wonderland because that is what it is to me, all curly locks and yumminess.

Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn from Lisa Souza Cashmere Merino Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn

When a redheaded rabbit meets Wild Things Cashmere/Merino, one can call it nothing other than Wild Bunny.

Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn from Lisa Souza Superfine Merino and Silk Handspun and Hand Dyed in Seaweed
This is a wonderfully subtle thick and thin yarn that I would use for a garment or blankie or big cushy shawl. It is one ply of a kelpy look of olives and pale lavenders and blues, plied with a silk merino that echoes these colors in a lighter version. I just want to squish it all day because it is so cozy and super soft! There is enough for a good sized project in this offering.

Fiber 75% Superfine Merino/25% silk
Gauge: 3 to 4 stitches per inch suggested
Needle size 8 to 10 US suggested, depending on the look of the fabric

Pistachio Flip Cashmere/BFL Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn

What happens when I play with a jazzy batt of BFL and Tencel and ply it with creamy cashmere? Pistachio Flip. The softness is fabulous and the shots of turquoise, orange and magenta through the Fresh Avocado makes this a subtle and jazzy yarn.

4 ounces/200 yards $60
5.8 ounces/248 yards $87

Mongolian Jewels Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
I was able to get some of the most luxurious DARK brown yak top recently and decided to ply it with some beautiful merino fiber that I blended on my carder with just a touch of Firestar. The combination is dreamy soft and I just want to keep burying my face in it. I have made a few skeins, sold a few skeins and still have enough of the merino to do a couple more but for the time being, there are three available. In the photo, the merino comes across a bit more strongly than it does in real life. The squint test gives much less contrast but you will get the idea.

60% dark brown Mongolian Yak
36% Merino/4% Firestar nylon

Gauge suggested: 4 to 5 stitches per inch. The yak will bloom so no need to knit too tightly.
Needle Size suggestion: size 9 US

Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn from Lisa Souza Comstock Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
The Comstock is an area in Nevada that was and is still rich with silver and gold and this is what this special yarn looks like, to me. It is silvery grey but with so much more when spun into this silk/merino blend.

Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn from Lisa Souza Acorn Bunny Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
Earth tones abound in this project that pairs bits of Olde Irish Rose and Mahogany with twinkly Firestar that is then plied with a warm natural colored angora. It will get quite furry as it is fondled, believe me so give it “room to bloom”.

Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn from Lisa Souza Helios Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
When Glory met Lime Soufflé, there was something magical that happened and I just decided to call it Helios. This is a one-of-a-kind yarn because of the component of the wickedly soft batts that I created to make the Lime Soufflé portion of the mix. The colorist in me finds it thrilling.

Fiber:65% Merino, 15% silk, 10% angora, 2.5% Firestar, 2.5% Tencel

Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn from Lisa Souza Cashmere Merino Bhutan Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
Mountains, snow, sharp vistas and soft footfalls. Bhutan.
This Cashmere/merino version has been spun with a lot of twist, so the photo does not show any bloom...YET. It is going to blur and soften, the more that it is handled and loved and you WILL love this.

Needle size: 7 to 8 US suggested
